My Personal Health Story
Although I've had my share of illness, I've generally been blessed with a healthy life and lifestyle. In 2008, after a couple of years of pushing myself hard and lacking the time to tend to my own health, I found myself debilitated by a spinal disc injury, which ultimately resulted in being disabled in a wheelchair. I exhausted alternative medicine avenues for treatment -- acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, energy work, and physical therapy -- with no relief. I had surgery and took a year off to recover fully. I'm happy to report my life is back to a simpler sort, balancing work and self-care, which affords me a return to my enjoyment of an active life, hiking, swimming, walking, and kick-dancing.
This injury has been a powerful reminder and refocusing for my own practice. While I treat many chronic conditions, I offer additional personal experience in helping those who suffer pre- or post-surgery from injury. I hope to offer athletes and active persons a team of providers to help recover and return to the joy of movement. |
